The Well Project Inc is a 501c3 Not for Profit Corporation committed to reducing the total human cost of the HIV/AIDS pandemic through a unique and comprehensive focus on women.
Founded in 2001 by Dawn Averitt Bridge, we spent two years researching, designing, and building the most comprehensive and current web-based resource available for women with HIV disease and those who provide care for them. The web portal: www.thewellproject.org, which launched in September 2003, provides the latest information on living with and managing the HIV disease for HIV positive women, health care providers and advocates.
The information on The Well Project website is multi-layered and designed to facilitate communication between patients, support-service-providers and clinicians by providing complex information in an accessible, conversational style. Women, now the fastest growing population of new HIV infections in the U.S. and worldwide, can log-on to the site for the latest information on everything from treating HIV to disclosure and dating to menopause. We are proud to provide information for the ‘whole woman’ since every woman’s battle with HIV extends well beyond merely managing a virus.
